The Dodgers come into this series a huge underdog to the Cubs. The Cubs look like the much better team. However, we all know that history is not on the Cubs side. Let us not take anything away from the Cubs, as they have the best record in the National league with 97 wins ands just 65 losses. They have the deeper pitching rotation with Carl Zambrano, Rich Harden, Ryan Dempster and Ted Lilly. Kerry Wood has proven to be a dependable closer out of the bullpen. The Cubs Manager Lou Pinella has a long resume of having winning ball clubs. The Dodgers have Joe Torre as their Manager and his World Series titles running the club. The acquisitions for the Dodgers in the second half of the season have catapulted them into the playoffs. The addition of Manny Ramirez was huge. Not only did he brig his big bat with him but he also has been a good influence on the youngsters on the roster. Andre Either, James Kemp and James Looney have all been better hitters since Manny mania has hit Hollywood. The Dodgers have also brought in Casey Blake and veteran pitcher Greg Maddux. The Dodgers have a mixture of veterans and young players for Torres to pick from when he makes the line-up. The Dodgers will need a big game from Derek Lowe to get them into this series. The rest of the rotation is capable with Maddux, Chad Billingsley and Hiroki Kuroda. Take the Dodgers here as a big underdog of +194 to win the series.
